A Vision Taking Shape in Downtown Halifax
Skye Halifax is a mixed-use development by United Gulf Developments currently under construction on a prominent downtown Halifax site between Hollis Street and Granville Street. The project is designed to bring new residential housing, street-level commercial space, and publicly accessible gathering areas into the urban core while contributing to the continued growth and connectivity of downtown Halifax.
Developed as part of the broader United Gulf Developments portfolio, Skye Halifax reflects a long-term approach to urban development focused on walkability, public space, and how people experience a city day to day.
A More Connected Downtown Experience
At the centre of the project is a pedestrian connection linking Hollis Street and Granville Street through the site. The connection is designed to improve walkability while creating publicly accessible space with seating areas, open gathering space, and improved pedestrian circulation within the downtown core.
By improving how people move through the area, the project aims to contribute to a more connected and active downtown environment.

Architecture and Streetscape
Located beside MetroPark Garage, Skye Halifax introduces a contemporary architectural presence to a highly visible downtown block. The project incorporates modern materials, balanced proportions, and active ground-level design intended to contribute positively to the surrounding streetscape.
The development has been planned with consideration for both the pedestrian experience and the evolving character of downtown Halifax, with an emphasis on street-level activity, accessibility, and integration into the surrounding urban environment.
Contributing to Downtown Halifax
Skye Halifax also includes infrastructure improvements intended to support the surrounding public realm. The project will contribute funding toward the undergrounding of overhead electrical and communication lines along Granville Street and Sackville Street, replacing aging infrastructure while supporting improvements to lighting, safety, and the overall streetscape experience.
These improvements are intended to contribute not only to the project itself, but also to the long-term functionality and appearance of the surrounding downtown area.
